Project Sepik (PNG)
Human Rights Defender and Co-ordinator
Papua New Guinea
Author of a book called ‘Sibona’, Manu mostly worked in the Not for Profit Sector. He graduated in the area of Applied Science but mostly worked as a Social Worker and in Management. Manu set up a Community Based Micro Financing Organisation in West Sepik Province, Papua New Guinea which helped many women and youth to access quick cash for micro enterprising projects. Today, Manu works 9 days a week on facilitating leadership spaces and opportunities for Leaders of the Sepik Region and Papua New Guinea to voice concerns and fears about the possible destruction of the Sepik River Basin in Papua New Guinea because of a planned Frieda Copper and Gold Mine in the headwaters of the Sepik River.
