Silvia Lara studied at the University of Costa Rica, where she obtained a Master's degree in Sociology. In her professional and personal career she has distinguished herself for his commitment and specialization in human rights, social inclusion, the fight against poverty and inequality and the challenge of sustainable development. She has worked in the public sector, in non-governmental organizations, in the academy, as a consultant for international organizations, with the business sector, and has directly involved with civil society organizations. Her professional experience highlights her work as Technical Director of the National Women's Institute, as Executive President of the Mixed Institute of Social Assistance, and Executive Director of the Business Association for Development. This life and work experience has allowed her to understand the challenges of development from very different perspectives, promote social dialogue and build alliances around key objectives for a fair, inclusive and sustainable development.

Silvia realizó sus estudios en la Universidad de Costa Rica, donde obtuvo una Maestría en Sociología. En su trayectoria profesional y personal se ha distinguido por su compromiso y especialización en temas de derechos humanos, la inclusión social, la lucha contra la pobreza y la desigualdad y el desafío del desarrollo sostenible. Ha trabajado en el sector público, en organizaciones no gubernamentales, en la academia, como consultora de organismos internacionales, con el sector empresarial, y se ha involucrado directamente con organizaciones de la sociedad civil. Entre su experiencia profesional se destaca su labor como Directora Técnica del Instituto Nacional de las Mujeres, como Presidenta Ejecutiva del Instituto Mixto de Ayuda Social, y Directora Ejecutiva de la Asociación Empresarial para el Desarrollo. Esta experiencia de vida y de trabajo le ha permitido comprender los desafíos del desarrollo desde muy distintas perspectivas, promover el diálogo social y construir alianzas alrededor de objetivos claves para un desarrollo con justicia, inclusivo y sostenible.
