Yuyun is currently the Representative of Indonesia to the ASEAN Intergovernmental Commission on Human Rights (AICHR), 2019-2021. She obtained her MA on Human Rights from Mahidol University, Thailand (2007) and now finalising  PhD at the International Institute of Social Studies (ISS) of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. Her research deals with the politics of state engagement with international human rights norms in the context of ASEAN regionalism from the perspective of Third World Approaches to International Law. Her opinion pieces often appear in The Jakarta Post, Bangkok Post and The Nation. She was the Team Leader of Regional EU-ASEAN Dialogue Instrument on Human Rights Facility (2015 – 2017) to support human rights work of the AICHR, the ASEAN Commission on the Promotion and the Protection of the Rights of Women and Children (ACWC), the ASEAN Committee on Migrant Workers (ACMW) and the ASEAN Committee on Women (ACW). She has spent more than 23 years working in human rights organisations at the national, regional and international level, including Human Rights Working Group (HRWG) based in Jakarta, Forum-Asia in Bangkok, Oxfam, Child Workers in Asia, the Solidarity Center and the National Commission on Child Protection.
